Coconut Tree Falls on House in Podwal-Khorjuve; Two Injured, Immediate Aid from Dr. Arolkar
Aldona : In the early hours today at Podwal-Khorjuve, a coconut tree suddenly collapsed onto the house of Vicky Vinayak Nagde, causing major damage. Two siblings sleeping inside the house sustained serious injuries. Thanks to the quick response of local residents, the injured were immediately taken to the hospital. After receiving primary treatment, they were discharged.
The fire brigade and electricity department promptly arrived at the scene. As a safety measure, the power supply was temporarily disconnected and a full assessment was carried out. Vicky Nagde expressed gratitude to the government for this swift response.
Following the incident, Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira and social worker Dr. Tarak Arolkar visited the site and inquired about the well-being of the affected family. Dr. Arolkar transferred ₹25,000 directly to Vicky Nagde’s bank account for immediate repairs, ensuring the family doesn’t face hardship during the monsoon season.
“Government aid will come in due time, but the family needs urgent help right now, which is why I extended this support,” said Dr. Arolkar. Vicky Nagde and his family expressed heartfelt gratitude for this timely assistance.
