Pernem taxi operators’ demand.
Pernem: United Taxi Brothers Association of Pernem affiliated to Shiv Worriers demanded immediate intervention by the concerned government department and resolve their long pending issues otherwise it will be very difficult to control and curb if it flies away from their hands.
They stated that their ancestral property was given for the development of MOPA airport but their genuine demands are still pending before the government.
They had also demanded government jobs as per the assurances, blue permits for their taxis, stoppage of illegal activities by outsider taxi operators, and others.
In this regard they have submitted a charter of their demands to the deputy collector on Thursday.
They also claimed that due to step-motherly treatment all the local taxi operators are agitated and all five panchayats are backing their them.
They may even go on strike if demanded.
