Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination on Jan 05, 2025.
State Council of Educational Research and Training, Alto-Porvorim, Goa has scheduled the State Level National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination (NMMSSE) 2024-25 for students of Std. VIII on January, Sunday 5 2025 which will be held at 12 Taluka centers viz., (1) Bicholim, (2) Bardez, (3) Pernem, (4) Sattari, (5) Tiswadi, (6) Ponda, (7) Salcete, (8) Sanguem, (9) Canacona, (10) Quepem, (11) Dharbandora and (12) Mormugao for the academic year 2024-2025 and project year 2025-2026. Under this Scheme, a total of 144 fresh Scholarships of Rs. 12,000/- per annum @ Rs. 1,000/- are awarded to the Meritorious Students every year from the State of Goa at Class IX level, which can be continued upto Class XII.
The Central Sector “National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS)” was launched in May 2008.
The examination for selection of students for award of NMMSS scholarships under the scheme is being conducted by the State Governments. As per the guidelines of the scheme, a selection exam is conducted for the students while they are studying in class VIII. The scheme is meant for meritorious students of economically weaker sections whose parental income is less than Rs. 3.50 lakh per annum.
