MVR Infra’s Criminal Negligence – Goans’ Lives at Risk : Amit Patkar

The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) strongly condemns the blatant negligence and reckless actions of MVR Infra Pvt Ltd, a contractor notorious for substandard road construction, corruption, and endangering human lives. Despite its shameful track record, MVR Infra continues to operate with impunity under the protection of the BJP-led government in Goa.
In the latest incident, MVR Infra has recklessly damaged the fuel line of Zuari IAV Pvt Ltd, posing an immediate and severe threat to thousands of Goan lives. A catastrophe of unimaginable proportions was narrowly avoided, yet neither the government nor its authorities have taken action against the contractor.
The Terminal Manager of Zuari IAV Pvt Ltd has publicly stated that MVR Infra was repeatedly warned, yet the contractor’s reckless behavior persisted. This raises a critical question—why was no action taken? The answer is clear: MVR Infra is being shielded by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the BJP because the contractor is the son-in-law of the BJP!
We ask Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji, how long will you continue to shield this killer contractor? How many more lives must be put at risk before the government takes decisive action? MVR Infra has already earned a reputation for building poor-quality, life-threatening roads, leading to multiple accidents and loss of innocent lives. Now, their criminal negligence has escalated to the point of potential mass destruction!
Patkar challenged the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to immediately file a criminal case against MVR Infra for endangering thousands of Goan lives, and questioned if he will once again close his eyes to protect the corrupt BJP allies?
This is not just negligence—it is criminal misconduct of the highest order! The Congress party and the people of Goa will not tolerate this mafia-style protection of deadly contractors any longer.
Patkar demanded the following with immediate effect:
1. MVR Infra Pvt Ltd must be blacklisted permanently from undertaking any further projects in Goa.
2. A criminal case must be filed against MVR Infra for endangering human lives.
3. An independent investigation must be conducted into the repeated violations and negligence of MVR Infra.
4. Strict accountability must be fixed on BJP leaders and government officials shielding such reckless contractors.
The BJP government has once again compromised Goans’ safety to protect their corrupt cronies. This must stop NOW! We call upon the people of Goa to stand united in demanding accountability before another disaster strikes.
