BOOKS ARE ALSO THE TEACHER OF THE TEACHERS – FORMER MP SHRI TENDULKAR
For the promotion of the national language Hindi under the Local Area Development Scheme, a mini library of books rich with the works of great Hindi writers related to Hindi literature was distributed at a function held at Bal Bhavan, Panaji recently. In a total of 10 selected educational institutions, i.e. 53 primary/upper primary. 32 high schools and 16 inter college, worth Rs.10,000/-, 25,000/-, and 50,000/- respectively in North Goa.
During the book distribution ceremony, Shri Tendulkar former MP said that during the Covid period, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi added the word Hindi in the new education policy to lead the world. Modiji’s dream is that Hindi should be popular not as a national language but as a world language. He said program is a step forward towards realizing the dreams of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. An initiative is being taken to add local language in the new education policy. For the unity of the nation and national pride and self-respect of mutual exchange of views, it is necessary that the national language Hindi should be widely propagated and reach down to the common people, he added.
Shri Tendulkar, while acknowledging that, learned from the teachers participating in the program, said that the storehouse of knowledge contained books is an inexhaustible treasure and only a teacher imparts good value students coming from school, but books are also the teacher of the teachers.
