Saligao Comunidade Elects New Managing Committee
Saligao: The Saligao Comunidade held elections for its Managing Committee on Sunday, February 2, at the Comunidade Ghor in Muddawadi, Saligao. The event saw a record-breaking attendance of 194 Gaunkars.
The election proceedings were conducted smoothly under the guidance of Presiding/Returning Officer Mr. Shripad Majik (Mamlatdar of Bicholim), who was ably assisted by three Talathis and two clerks.
The Gaunkars have entrusted an experienced panel to lead the Comunidade, electing Mr. Glen Dantas as the new President. A graduate in Economics and Political Science, Mr. Dantas brings over 30 years of experience in the printing industry.
Mr. Orlando Vaz was elected as Attorney. A retired music teacher, Mr. Vaz has previously served as both President and Special Attorney of the Comunidade.
Mr. Allan Vaz, a retired State Bank of India Manager, takes over as Treasurer, bringing extensive financial expertise.
Other elected members include:
Dr. Andrew D’Souza – Substitute President, a teacher at St. Xavier’s College.
Mr. Andrew Cordeiro – Substitute Attorney, a businessman and civil engineer, and the outgoing Attorney.
Mr. Ashley Delaney – Sub Treasurer, a businessman, computer professional, and outgoing Attorney.
The newly elected committee looks forward to serving the Saligao Comunidade with dedication and transparency, working towards a stronger and united community.
