Calangute Panchayat to Host Four-Day Inter-School Sports Festival
Calangute: The Village Panchayat of Calangute is all set to host an exciting Inter-School Sports Festival from February 5 to 8 at the Poriat Football Ground, Calangute. The event aims to foster a spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition among students from various schools in the region.
The sports festival will feature a wide range of games, including track and field events, football, basketball, volleyball, and several indoor games.
A Platform for Young Athletes
Speaking about the event, Joseph Sequeira, Sarpanch of Calangute Gram Panchayat, expressed enthusiasm about organizing the festival.
“We are excited to provide young players with a platform to showcase their talent, develop teamwork skills, and cultivate a lifelong passion for sports. We invite all schools and students to participate and make this event a grand success,” he said.
The West Coast Sports and Cultural Club, located near CSM Hotel, Calangute, will serve as the indoor venue for specific sports competitions.

Outdoor Games:
Beach Football (6-a-side), Futsal (7-a-side), Volleyball (6-a-side), Penalty Shootout, Sprint Races (100m, 200m, 400m), Relay Race (4x100m), Tug of War, Shot Put Throw, Javelin Throw & Discus Throw
Indoor Games:
Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom & Chess

The sports festival will take place daily from 4:00 PM onwards at Poriat Football Ground. Schools and students interested in participating can contact the Calangute Gram Panchayat office for registration details.
