AWARENESS SESSION ON SNAKE BITE HELD
Panaji : The Department of Alumni Affairs of Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sankhali in association with Biodiversity Monitoring Committee Keri Sattari and Vivekanand Dnyanmandir High School, Keri organized an awareness session on snake bite management and safety practices for students.
The event was coordinated by Mr Nanda Majik also the chairman of Biodiversity Monitoring Committee Keri Sattari. The objective of the talk was to raise awareness about snake bites and the need to take action to reduce the number of deaths and disabilities caused by them.
Resource person Dr Suman Tari, Assistant Professor in Zoology highlighted the importance of snakes in our surrounding and the need to co exist with them. She showed slides on venomous and non venomous species and their hiding places where humans can encounter snakes.
The talk also included information on first aid and treatment in case
of a snake bite. The talk was attended by around 90 students of the school.
