Minister Mauvin Godinho Leads KTCL’s Smart Transport Initiative
Panaji: In a significant step towards modernizing Goa’s public transport, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho attended his first Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd. (KTCL) Board Meeting today. The meeting focused on the proposal for Integrated Smart Transport Solutions, aimed at enhancing commuter experience and improving operational efficiency.
The proposed initiative includes e-ticketing, real-time tracking, enhanced safety measures, and revenue diversification, making public transport more efficient and commuter-friendly. To ensure a smooth transition, the digital transformation of KTCL’s entire fleet will be executed in a single phase over 12 months.
Project Timeline:
1. Preparation & Procurement (3 months) – Finalizing tenders and integrating necessary infrastructure.
2. Deployment & Integration (6 months) – Installing e-ticketing systems, GPS trackers, and passenger information systems, along with comprehensive staff training.
3. Testing & Go-Live (3 months) – Ensuring system reliability, real-time monitoring, and smooth adoption through passenger feedback mechanisms.
This structured approach will position KTCL as a leader in smart transport, making Goa’s public transport system safer, more efficient, and digitally advanced. The successful implementation of this project is expected to significantly improve commuter convenience and optimize revenue generation.
