India Slams Pakistan at UN for Sponsoring Cross-Border Terrorism

United Nations : India has strongly criticized Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), accusing it of decades-long support for cross-border terrorism. The sharp remarks came during an open debate on the protection of civilians in armed conflict, where India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, called out Pakistan’s duplicity on the issue.

Ambassador Harish stated, “India has suffered for decades from Pakistani-sponsored terrorist attacks across its borders. It is ironic that a country which uses civilian cover to advance the cause of terrorism seeks to speak on protecting civilians.”

In a pointed reference to recent developments, he highlighted how senior Pakistani government, police, and military officials had publicly paid tribute to terrorists killed during Operation Sindoor. “The world has just witnessed high-ranking officials attending the funerals of individuals recognized internationally as terrorists. A nation that makes no distinction between terrorists and civilians has no moral standing to advocate for civilian protection,” he said.

India’s remarks were seen as a firm rebuttal to Pakistan’s attempts to raise the Kashmir issue during the UNSC debate, despite it being unrelated to the topic of discussion.

The debate saw several member states express concern over civilian suffering in global conflict zones, but India’s intervention brought focus to state-sponsored terrorism and its implications for civilian safety.
