PM Modi Hails Youth-Driven Tech Innovation on 11th Anniversary of Digital India
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday praised the pivotal role of India’s youth in driving the nation’s technological transformation, as the country marks 11 years of the Digital India initiative.
Highlighting the progress made under the programme, PM Modi said the spirit of innovation among young Indians has not only improved service delivery and transparency but also significantly contributed to India’s journey toward self-reliance and global tech leadership.
“Powered by the youth of India, we are making remarkable progress in innovation and application of technology. It is also strengthening our efforts to become self-reliant and a global tech powerhouse,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X, responding to MyGovIndia’s updates on the initiative’s impact.
Launched in 2015, the Digital India campaign aims to improve internet access and make digital services universally available, especially in rural and remote regions. Over the past decade, it has revolutionized governance by replacing many manual processes with digital platforms, reducing corruption, and streamlining public service access.
“Leveraging the power of technology has brought innumerable benefits for people. Service delivery and transparency have been greatly boosted. Furthermore, technology has become a means of empowering the lives of the poorest of poor,” PM Modi added in another post, using the hashtag #11YearsOfDigitalIndia.
The Digital India initiative continues to play a key role in India’s digital transformation, aligning with the government’s broader goals of innovation-led growth and inclusive development.
