MLA Deviya Rane Flags Off Goa Monsoon Trekking Expedition 2025
Thane-Dongurli : MLA Deviya Rane flagged off the first batch of the Goa Monsoon Trekking Expedition 2025, organized by the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) – Goa State Branch. The inaugural event took place in the picturesque village of Thane-Dongurli, nestled in the lap of the Western Ghats.
The event witnessed an energetic turnout of young trekkers, eager to explore Goa’s lush monsoon landscapes marked by cascading waterfalls, dense forests, and pristine natural beauty.
The flag-off ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries including Shri Nilesh Parvar (Sarpanch, Thane-Dongurli VP), Shri Sidharth Kuncalienker (State President, YHAI Goa), Shri Kaustubh Natekar (State Treasurer), Smt Roopa Nair (State Secretary), Shri Kiran Natekar (Programme Director), Shri Ashok Gadag (State Vice President), Shri Venkat Narayanan (Former National Chairman), Smt Laxmi Mordekar (Co-chairperson, National Adventure Promotion Committee), along with Panch members of the Thane Panchayat.
Commending the organisers, MLA Rane praised YHAI’s commitment to responsible trekking and youth engagement. “The thoughtful planning, safety-first approach, and dedication to sustainable tourism reflect YHAI’s leadership in promoting a culture of adventure and nature respect,” she said.
Participants were wished a safe and enriching trekking experience, embodying the spirit of exploration and eco-conscious tourism in Goa.
