Mango-Laden Truck Overturns in Andhra’s Annamayya District; 16 Dead, 17 Injured
Andhra Pradesh : Tragedy struck in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya district on Sunday night when a mango-laden truck overturned, killing at least nine labourers including five women and injuring ten others.
According to police reports, the labourers were sitting on top of the truck when the accident occurred. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a collision with an oncoming car.
Emergency teams rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations and shift the injured to nearby hospitals. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and the truck driver has been taken into custody for questioning.
The district administration has assured support to the victims’ families and announced that compensation measures are being planned.
