IFWJ National Executive elections were held in Jaipur session
Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The election of the National Executive was concluded in the two-day convention of IFWJ, the country’s first, leading and most wide-ranging journalist organization with units in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Out of the 27 National Councilors (NC) selected for the Executive by Chief Electoral Officer Shankar Dutt Sharma. National President Naresh Kumar appointed Jangareddy Pisati (Telangana) to the post of National General Secretary. Thereafter the Chief Electoral Officer announced the office bearers elected to the Working Committee.
In which Sunil Thapliyal on the post of National Treasurer and Manoj Saini on the post of Secretary, Uttarakhand along with four Vice President posts were announced as executive members, which the journalists from all over the country supported and expressed hope that the new executive will work in the interest of journalists. Hundreds of journalists from across the country participated in the meeting. In view of the current situation of the journalists of India, it has been decided in the meeting that in the coming days, a letter will be handed over to the Honorable Prime Minister of India and the Home Minister along with the Chief Ministers of the states to make them aware about the situation of the journalists as well as different aspects of India. -Special discussions were held regarding the issue of atrocities and injustice being done to journalists in different states and whether the Government of India should bring a Journalist Protection Act Bill.In the elections held on the first day of the convention, apart from General Secretary Shri Reddy and Treasurer Thapliyal, Sharad Gaur of Rajasthan, Viruti Srinivas Rao of Andhra Pradesh, BD Rai of Chhattisgarh, Khushiram of Delhi and D Appanna of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar on the post of Secretary, apart from General Secretary Shri Reddy and Treasurer Thapliyal. Rajeev Ranjan, C Prakash of Karnataka, Bhaskar Dubey of Uttar Pradesh, Manoj Saini of Uttarakhand etc. were elected while the executive members included Arun Saxena, Snehlata, Riya Jaswani, Shani Kulshrestha Rajasthan, Gyan Shankar,Ravi Shankar Bihar, Tukaram Goa, Ajay Rajput Haryana, Manoj Mishra, Laxmikant Jaiswal Chhattisgarh, Tribhuvan Uniyal Uttarakhand, Roshan Ji Kadam Maharashtra, Titti Praveen Kumar Andhra Pradesh, Renu Chauhan, Lokesh Kumar, Rajendra Kumar Delhi were elected.
During this, National President Naresh Kumar Sharma assured all the journalists of the country and said that working in the interest of all the journalists will be the first priority. He said that the organization will always be ready to solve the problems of the journalists working at the last level.Rajasthan Shramjeevi Journalist Union President Ashok Bhatnagar said that work will be done seriously on Journalist Security Act, Life Insurance and Journalist Pension Samman Fund and other issues in all the states. Representatives of 13 states participated in the National Executive meeting. All the colleagues together took an oath to play their role ethically in strengthening the voice of journalists and establishing democracy in the true sense and the National Executive meeting was concluded.On this occasion, IFWJ Chief Returning Officer and Uttarakhand State President Shankar Dutt Sharma, State General Secretary Lakshmi Visht, Rajasthan Union General Secretary Rajkumar Malhotra, Andhra Pradesh President Ramakrishna, Goa President Bharat Betkekar, Delhi President Abhimanyu Pandey, Haryana Union President Sanjay Jain. General Secretary Sanjeev Tyagi, Dilip Shah, Upendra Aswal etc. expressed their views. Hundreds of journalists were present in the delegate session.
