As the heat rises, water is the only refuge
With soaring mercury levels people of Goa are flocking to the beaches to beat the heat in Goa in the month of May as the state is witnessing high humidity over the past few days .
For the people, who are right now in holiday mood, the water bodies have come as a relief and the number of people thronging beaches and other water bodies has gone up.
“State’s prime beaches like Calangute, Colva, Arambol, Anjuna. Palolem, Morjim and others are witnessing heavy rush of locals also the private lifeguards, who are commissioned by state government, has come as a big saviour. Also School students and others from the local area trying to beat heat of the season in the water in Padanmoll in Quepem. This canal is connected to Sanguem Dam.
The state tourism department has already flagged the no swimming zones on the beachline .and There are times when drunken tourists refuse to listen to lifeguard and risk their lives,
