Romania took the lead in the 29th minute after Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin gave away the ball to the opposition, which allowed Nicolae Stanciu to curl the ball into the top corner from outside the box. The Damac FC midfielder became the first player from the Saudi Pro League to score in this Euros.
Ten minutes later, he came close to doubling his tally when he hit the woodwork directly from a corner.
Romania restarted the scoring just eight minutes into the second half through Răzvan Marin, whose shot from outside the box crept under Lunin and into the net.
