New tender for lifeguarding on the beaches will be out in next 3 months.

Khaunte was replying to a question Goa Forward Party (GFP) MLA Vijai Sardesai who exposed the Goa Tourism department’s wasteful expenditure.
Vijai said that the Goa government has wasted RS 63 crore on promotion events across foreign countries.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte informed the legislative assembly that Drishti has been doing commendable job on saving the lives on the beaches. He said that the deaths due to drowning are either bodies that are washed ashore or that has happened before 7 am or after 7 pm when lifeguards are not in service.

Tourism minister Rohan Khaunte said that the participation in the international roadshows was to ensure that we present ourselves to the world, where emerging markets come. With impact on tourism from UK and Ukraine, we need to look at the emerging and new markets.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte told the House  Earlier,that  only Goa used to participate in these events but now states like Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka are attending the international marts.
During the event, we have serious meetings with the trade on B2B and B2C meetings. The minutes are placed before empowered committee before we decide the next course of action.
