ACHIEVEMENTS OF AYUSH IN 100 DAYS
Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, outlined significant achievements of the Ministry of AYUSH in its first 100 days under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, focusing on promoting traditional Indian medicine and its integration into national and global healthcare. Key accomplishments include the finalization of 170 Ayurvedic treatment packages under the ‘Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY’, Ayush Entry Level Certification of NABH of 1005 ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandirs’ for quality care, and international agreements with the WHO and countries like Vietnam and Malaysia to promote traditional medicine systems. The ministry launched the “One Herb, One Standard” initiative to ensure the efficacy and safety of herbal medicines and announced plans for special Ayush medicine stores at the tehsil level. Additionally, over 14,692 Ayush camps were organized for the elderly, and six new Centers of Excellence were established for advanced research in traditional medicine, alongside significant investments in expanding the All India Institute of Ayurveda and establishing the National Institute of Ayurveda in Panchkula, Haryana. These initiatives reflect a focused effort to integrate Ayush into mainstream healthcare, advance research, and expand the global reach of traditional Indian medicine systems.
In the past 100 days, the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) under the Ministry of AYUSH has made significant strides in research and public health initiatives. The Council published 11 original articles and 17 case reports in peer-reviewed journals and is currently conducting 03 clinical research on acne, chronic kidney disease, and allergic rhinitis, alongside 07 fundamental research projects. Moreover, it has undertaken clinical verification for 08 drugs, completed 02 drug proving studies, and conducted drug standardization studies involving 08 pharmacognosy drugs and 17 physicochemical drugs. CCRH secured one patent, filed another, and signed 12 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), positively impacting 28,128 individuals and reinforcing its commitment to public health through Homoeopathy. CCRH has also engaged in global cooperation, preparing for a RCT in collaboration with the Royal London Hospital of Integrated Medicine, UK focusing on menopausal syndrome. Additionally, a research paper from a collaborative study on neonates, conducted under an MoU with Shaare Zedek Medical Centre in Israel, has been accepted for publication. The Council has launched eight public health programs that benefited 745,849 individuals, including Poshan Mah and Swachhta Campaign activities at all 34 centers, to assess the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its management with Homoeopathy at 14 centers, and a patient satisfaction survey at rural outreach medical camps. CCRH is also conducting a trial on the efficacy of Glonoine 30 in preventing heat-related illnesses and implementing a Menstrual Health Program at 30 centers.
In the past 100 days, the CRU(H), Goa has promoted wellness, cleanliness, and nutrition through various initiatives. Key activities included: International Yoga Day: Highlighting yoga’s role in holistic health. Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 4.0: Conducting school awareness sessions, cleanliness drives, planting medicinal plants, hand-washing sessions, waste management seminars, and free health camps for sanitation workers. Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024: Promoting healthy eating with awareness talks, foodmaking competitions, and patient counseling. Hindi Pakhwada 2024: Encouraging the use of Hindi through various activities. Vigilance Awareness Campaign: Enhancing efficiency and transparency through complaint resolution and regular staff meetings. These efforts reflect the unit’s commitment to community health, integrity, and accountability. Overall, the CRU(H), Goa remains steadfast in its mission to advance Homoeopathic research and healthcare, while placing a strong emphasis on community outreach, education, and public health. Through its diverse range of activities and initiatives, the unit is making a positive impact on the well-being of the people of Goa, embodying the principles of holistic healthcare and community service.
