Underground Electrical Wiring Work Begins in Macasana

Macasana : The long-awaited project of laying underground electrical wires in Macasana has officially commenced. The feeder, which receives its power supply from the Raia substation, is undergoing a significant upgrade to enhance the region’s electricity infrastructure.

As part of the project, the existing 10 transformers will be upgraded from 100 KVA to 200 KVA, ensuring improved capacity and efficiency. Additionally, two new transformers will be installed—one in Modsai and the other in Sorla—further strengthening the power distribution network in the area.

The work is expected to be completed by April 2025. Once finished, the underground wiring system will provide safer, more reliable electricity services, reducing power outages and ensuring an uninterrupted supply to residents.

“This initiative will be a major relief for the people of Macasana, as it will enhance the overall quality of power supply and eliminate the risks associated with overhead lines,” said MLA Yuri Alemao.

Residents have welcomed the development, expressing hope that the project will address long-standing power fluctuations and infrastructure concerns in the village.
