Over 3.3 Crore Trained Under NSDC and PMKVY: Govt

More than 3.3 crore individuals have received skill training under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) over the last decade, the government informed the Lok Sabha.

Minister of State for Skill Development Jayant Chaudhary said that 1.6 crore candidates were trained under PMKVY, of which 1.29 crore have been certified as of June 30, 2025. Additionally, 1.74 crore individuals were trained under other NSDC-supported programmes.

PMKVY 4.0 emphasises quality, industry relevance, and includes On-the-Job Training. Certified trainers and assessors, e-KYC enrolment, biometric attendance, and real-time monitoring via the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) ensure transparency.

As of FY 2024–25, ₹1,538.29 crore was released for PMKVY implementation.

Training is being expanded to all districts, including Aspirational and Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas, with focus on emerging sectors like AI, EVs, 5G, Robotics, and Data Analytics to build a future-ready workforce.
