CM Inaugurates Smart Policing Initiatives to Combat Cybercrime in Goa
Panaji: In a major step towards strengthening cyber security and smart policing, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated several key initiatives aimed at enhancing Goa’s policing infrastructure with cutting-edge technology.
The newly launched initiatives include:
1. Cyber Yodha Initiative – A specialized program to tackle cyber threats effectively.
2. AI-ML Lab – Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to enhance cybercrime investigations.
3. Dedicated Cyber Helpline Number 1930 – A quick-response helpline for cyber fraud victims.
4. Quick Pass Mobile App – Developed by students of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, this app enables one-time document submission, eliminating the need for repeated paperwork.
Speaking at the event, CM Sawant expressed pride in Goa’s technological advancements in combating cybercrime. “Goa is among the few states with an in-house technology-driven approach to cybercrime prevention. These initiatives will benefit Goans, domestic and foreign tourists by providing quick assistance in resolving cyber-related cases,” he said.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant against cyber fraud and dial 1930 in case of any cybercrime incidents. The Goa government remains committed to strengthening infrastructure and technology to make policing smarter, contributing to the vision of Viksit Goa and Swayampurna Goa.
